Stephen Rodriguez

  • Stephen Rodriguez is the Founder of One Defense, a technology-enabled consulting firm that accelerates dual-use technology transition into the defense industrial base. He is also an investor with DCVC, a multi-billion dollar deep-tech venture capital firm, where he leads defense investing.

    Mr. Rodriguez began working in the national security sector in 2001. He subsequently was a senior leader at an artificial intelligence growth-stage company and a global defense corporation. Throughout his career, he has been in and out of government, including operational service in Colombia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Afghanistan.

    Mr. Rodriguez serves as a Director, Observer or Advisor of fifteen venture-backed companies to include Agility Robotics, Alta Resources, Applied Intuition, Blue Water Autonomy, Chariot Defense, Firestorm, GrayMatter Robotics, Kela Systems, Mythic, Smack Technologies, and Ursa Major Technologies. He is also a Commission Director at the Atlantic Council, Chairman of Blue Forge Alliance, and Chairman of Booz Allen Hamilton’s Defense Technology Board.

    A Life Member at the Council on Foreign Relations, Mr. Rodriguez received his B.B.A from Texas A&M University and an M.A. from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He is published in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Foreign Policy, WarOnTheRocks, and National Review.

The Honorable Ellen Lord

  • Having managed the entirety of the DoD acquisition system, Lord brings unmatched authority on industrial-base scaling and Other Transaction (OT) authorities. Her expertise will provide credibility with OSD[1]  acquisition and prime contractors, ensuring a seamless path for commercial innovation.

John Clark

  • A 27-year veteran of Lockheed Martin, Clark brings unparalleled experience in AI, autonomy, and edge compute from the prime-contractor perspective. He will help guide Mythic’s path from rapid prototyping to established Programs of Record.

    In addition to large IPO outcomes, many of Matt’s prior investments were acquired to become core capabilities of companies like Illumina, Cisco, Google, IBM, Amazon/AWS, VMware, Salesforce, and Akamai. His venture investments prior to DCVC include Zoom (ZM), Fortinet (FTNT), D-Wave Systems, Uber (UBER), AngelList, Xensource (CTRX), and Facebook (FB). Matt founded and was VP of R&D of Da Vinci Systems, a pioneering e-mail software vendor with over 1 million users world-wide prior to its acquisition.

    Matt holds a degree in Physics from Yale University, and he is an inventor on over 50 granted or in-process patents in areas as diverse as computer systems virtualization, fraud detection, and AR. He still writes code and builds robots for fun with his kids, but admits to liking Erlang better than Clojure, and Fischertechnik better than Lego Mindstorms.

  • Gen. Rainey brings profound insight into end-to-end military modernization. With deep knowledge of the requirements-to-program playbook, his guidance will be vital for aligning Mythic’s capabilities with Army modernization priorities and Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs).

Lieutenant General Deanna Burt

  • Lt. Gen. Burt brings critical perspective on the specialized demands of space operations and the ultimate high-stakes tactical edge. Her expertise will help tailor Mythic's low-SWaP solutions for the unique rigors and requirements of the space domain.

Dawn Meyerriecks
