Mead is Mythic's most ambitious product yet—a 3D NAND-based LLM platform that puts the equivalent of ChatGPT 3 (175B parameters) in a chip the size of a fingernail, at sub-1W power consumption and a fraction of the cost of conventional LLM inference hardware. Inspired by Carver Mead's belief that analog computing should be thousands of times more efficient than digital, Mead is the realization of that vision, bringing 100B+ parameter LLMs to consumer electronics for the first time.

From Nor to NandMythic's original architecture was built on NOR flash, which computes across a single layer of memory on one wafer. 3D NAND stacks 300 or more memory layers vertically on the same footprint, multiplying weight storage capacity by orders of magnitude. Because 3D NAND is already in high-volume production worldwide, Mythic can insert its proven architecture into an existing, cost-optimized manufacturing ecosystem rather than building a new one, unlocking the density, cost, and scalability needed to replace an entire AI server with a single fingernail-sized chip.
