Mythic AI Enters India with Bengaluru Centre of Excellence (CoE) to Advance Next-Generation Analog AI Chip Development.
September 29, 2026The Bengaluru CoE will bring together specialized semiconductor talent to advance AI chip development and strengthen Mythic AI’s global engineering capabilities.
The Mythic India team aims to become one of the world’s leading AI chip development teams, encompassing multiple domains across both pre-silicon and post-silicon engineering disciplines, and participating in complex executions across the semiconductor development spectrum.
The team is already contributing to the front-end design and verification of core analog compute, analog-digital hybrid physical design, and DFT techniques to meet automotive compliance requirements.
Bengaluru, India | September 29, 2026 — Mythic AI (mythic.ai), a semiconductor company developing analog compute-in-memory technology for highly energy-efficient AI inference, has announced its entry into India with the launch of its new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. The new India centre will serve as a key product development and innovation hub, with plans to build a premier AI chip development team spanning VLSI (Very Large-Scale Integration) design, physical design, design-for-test, systems and applications engineering.
Mythic AI takes a fundamentally different approach to AI computing. Its analog compute-in-memory technology runs AI processing inside the memory itself, reducing the data movement between memory and processor that drives up energy use in conventional chips. The technology is designed to support AI applications across defense, enterprise LLMs, robotics and physical AI, and automotive and ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), where high-performance, energy-efficient inference is critical.
Its flagship Vanguard platform combines analog and digital computing on a single chiplet, delivering AI inference across automotive ADAS, defense, edge AI and data centres, with efficiency gains of up to 100x. A single Mythic AI rack is designed to deliver the same output as 650 conventional racks, significantly reducing the infrastructure footprint required for AI inference. The platform has also been validated for tactical-edge applications through Mythic AI’s strategic partnership with Lockheed Martin, demonstrating its potential in demanding, resource-constrained environments.
The launch comes at a time when India’s semiconductor ecosystem is gaining momentum, with Bengaluru emerging as a major hub for semiconductor design alongside growing clusters for manufacturing, advanced packaging, talent and R&D across the country. The automotive sector is also seeing greater demand for energy-efficient chip architectures as ADAS adoption expands, supported by the ₹76,000 crore Semicon India Programme. Globally, the shift towards more efficient AI computing is accelerating, with in-memory computing and analog AI technologies expected to see significant growth over the coming decade. This convergence of semiconductor talent, automotive demand and next-generation AI architectures makes Bengaluru a strategic location for Mythic AI’s India expansion.
Mythic AI’s leadership brings deep NVIDIA roots to its India expansion. Dr. Taner Ozcelik, Chairman & CEO, Mythic AI, is the former Vice President and General Manager of NVIDIA’s Automotive Division, where he worked closely with NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang to build and scale the automotive business and pioneer the commercialisation of autonomous technologies. As part of its India expansion, Mythic AI’s India team will be led by Mr. Manoj Kumar, Vice President, Mythic India, from Bengaluru. The team is expected to quadruple in size by Q1 2027, further strengthening the company’s engineering capabilities and enabling greater ownership of critical product development initiatives from Bengaluru.
Commenting on the launch, Dr. Taner Ozcelik, Chairman & CEO, Mythic AI said, “India has an exceptional depth of semiconductor engineering talent and a rapidly evolving technology ecosystem, making Bengaluru an important location for Mythic AI’s next phase of growth. Our objective is to build a premier AI chip development team that can take meaningful ownership across multiple areas of product development and contribute to some of the most complex challenges in AI computing. As AI workloads continue to expand, the industry will need architectures that deliver performance while addressing energy constraints. We see an opportunity to bring together strong engineering capabilities in India with our global technology and product development efforts, while creating a team that can take ownership of complex, high-impact work.”
Commenting on the company’s India expansion, Mr. Manoj Kumar, Vice President, Mythic India said, “Bengaluru brings in an all encompassing blend of semiconductor engineering talent - Digital, Analog, PD, DFT, SW, PE, TE and other specialized sub disciplines in each of these complex domains. Mythic's core AI semiconductor development would demand exceptional execution in each of these disciplines and I am excited to create and nurture a team that will help realize our immediate and long term roadmap of energy efficient AI solutions.”
With its Bengaluru presence, Mythic AI aims to deepen its participation in India’s semiconductor and AI ecosystem while creating opportunities for engineers to work on advanced AI chip technologies. The India CoE will initially contribute to the development of its flagship product Vanguard, with future plans spanning product, test and characterisation engineering, systems engineering and intelligent sensing chip development. The company also intends to engage with local ecosystem partners and explore market requirements, particularly around lower-energy and lower-footprint computing, as it expands its engineering and product development capabilities in India.
